ABOUT THE FAIR
The “Garten & Genuss” in Bad Rappenau is a public fair held annually in September. Since its founding in 2008, it has evolved into a popular event for garden enthusiasts, food lovers, and families from across the region. Originally created following the State Garden Show, it continues to celebrate a passion for gardening, nature, and the joy of life. The venue is the picturesque Salinenpark, a historic park in the heart of Bad Rappenau. With its charming atmosphere and convenient accessibility by car or public transport, it provides the perfect setting for the fair.
The event uniquely combines the themes of gardening, culinary delights, craftsmanship, and sustainability. At its heart lies the world of plants and gardens: renowned nurseries and specialized vendors showcase an impressive selection of perennials, roses, herbs, shrubs, and exotic rarities. The offerings are complemented by creative landscaping ideas, high-quality tools, modern gardening technology, and stylish decorative items made from metal, wood, glass, or ceramics.
What sets the fair apart is its strong regional focus combined with a broad thematic range. Local producers and direct marketers from Heilbronn-Franken and neighboring regions offer culinary specialties such as cold-pressed oils, cheeses, sausages, vinegars, honey, spices, and chocolates – often handmade and certified organic. Local wineries and wine cooperatives round off the selection with a range of fine wines.
Another defining feature of “Garten & Genuss” is its successful blend of experience and education. To enhance convenience, the fair offers thoughtful services such as the "Gartenschau-Bähnle" – a shuttle that takes visitors comfortably from the town center to the entrance at the "Feuerbeet" – as well as plant cloakrooms and plant taxis, which make it easy to transport even larger purchases home.
