ABOUT THE FAIR
The ChamlandSchau is a regional consumer fair held every September and has been a fixture in the event calendar of the Upper Palatinate since its founding in 1983. With around 50,000 visitors, it ranks among the largest trade exhibitions in the region and serves as an important meeting point for people from the Cham district, neighboring regions, and even from nearby Czechia and Austria. The event takes place at the centrally located Volksfestplatz in Cham, which, with its modern exhibition hall and spacious outdoor grounds, offers ideal conditions for showcasing products, services, and innovations from a wide range of industries. Admission is free, and the fair is open to all – a low-threshold offering for the entire family.
Since 2024, the event has been organized by provi – a marketing and event agency based in Traitsching – which took over from the previously responsible MV service-werbung GmbH. The City of Cham remains the conceptual sponsor of the fair, underlining its continued support and strong connection to the event. The provi agency brings many years of experience in trade fair organization and also manages other well-established formats such as ChamlandVital, ChamlandBau, and ChamlandCareer.
Designed as a public fair with an experiential character, ChamlandSchau blends modern technology, traditional craftsmanship, and regional identity. It strikes a balance between professional information, emotional appeal, and local roots. The fair covers key areas of life, including building and renovation, home and garden, health and wellness, mobility and travel, as well as finance and retirement planning. Visitors can explore current trends and receive personal consultations from regional and international experts – whether it’s about innovative heating systems, energy-efficient renovation solutions, kitchen studios, home wellness offerings, care consulting, or sustainable mobility concepts. This diverse range is complemented by a carefully selected fashion and accessories segment featuring traditional attire, jewelry, and hat styles.
A special highlight is the "Gourmet Market", which features culinary specialties from the Upper Palatinate and neighboring regions. Local producers, traditional food artisans, and regional breweries and distilleries invite guests to linger and enjoy authentic culinary experiences.
Numerous exhibitors – primarily from Eastern Bavaria, but also from Czechia and Austria – present a wide variety of high-quality offerings. Personal interaction, regional connection, and professional expertise are at the heart of their presentations. Rather than being a classic trade fair, ChamlandSchau sees itself as an open platform for all generations – a place for encounters, information, and inspiration for families, homeowners, tradespeople, health-conscious individuals, and those with a passion for good living. A varied supporting program across all four days enhances the experience far beyond a conventional product exhibition.
With its combination of practical relevance, immersive experiences, and strong regional ties, ChamlandSchau clearly sets itself apart from other fairs – a true flagship event for the Cham region and a key driver for trade, crafts, and services in the East Bavarian border area.
